not like I was close to the last two, but I knew them

and it's only August, n' my best friend's mom & the drummer from the very first band I ever sang with both have cancer, very likely terminal

2017 has not been a good year at all

I'm a little late, but I really hope your year improved, and I'm sorry for all your losses. Back in 2006/2007 I lost 13 people in a 3 month span. Grandma to friends, to a Mom of a friend that I didn't know well. It started with 3 funerals in 2 days. By far the worst was the second funeral of the span. An old co workers 4 month old son. Born with medical issues, wasn't suppose to survive, did survive, went home, went back to hospital, and then obviously didn't make it. Never met the little guy, and hadn't talked to the old co-worker in 2 years. While I'm looking at this tiny body in a tiny casket, holding my own baby in my arms…. my 2 year old Daughter tells me and everyone around me that the baby in the box looks just like her little brother… Still haunted by that image. 

The 3 month span left me in a dark place. Economy was starting to tank, I was struggling at work, and funeral after funeral really got me down. Honestly what really helped was my 2007 fantasy team. I was loving the fanball message board, enjoying my new found forum friends, and somehow drafted Tom Brady, and Adrian Peterson. I went 16-0 and couldn't have been any more excited. Felt all my deceased friends had a little something to do with it.
