in Keino-favorite Peter King's mailbag column yesterday, a reader suggested the possibility of bringing soccer's card system to pro football for excessive hits. I wonder how things would change on the field if the danger of having to play 10-handed for the rest of a game existed.

This would be interesting to see. Maybe try it in the regular season but not in the playoffs. I would say try it in the preseason first, but how effective would that be? Scrub guys getting carded and then cut? Definitely an interesting proposal though.

I hate soccer athletes who take DIVES, & the card SYSTEM PROMOTES THIS.. i think you guys are looking for HOCKEY.. which has a version of your card rule.. i dont know how many soccer games i am watching when a guy is on a break away & someone is trying to grab them, & instead of RUnning through this they act like someone has a choker chain on them…

 

I say play the game not the refs
