… I hope that she appreciates you…

Unfortunately, she had a severe stroke less than a month after her birthday and passed away 8 wks later

aside from all the funereal business, there's just lots more to running a house all by yourself than I'd bargained for

…for one thing, I always wondered about gardeners: it just didn't seem they had all that much to do, I more or less figured that having a gardener was just another bit of conspicuous consumption for rich folk …I was wrong …people who do that w*rk are slaves!  they couldn't possibly be paid what they'd be worth …I hate yardw*rk n' you just wouldn't believe how much time I spend on it now …finally got the dead leaves cleaned out of the herb garden today – that's a j*b that's usually done in April…

…then there's that little difficulty about not knowing how to cook…

I barely even get to sit down at the computer anymore n' I used to spend hours n' hours on it every day
